Palm CEO Ed Colligan said today that Palm doesn’t envision running into any legal trouble with Apple over their implementation of multi-touch in the upcoming Palm Pre.  If you recall, Tim Cook noted at Apple’s last earnings conference call that Apple would vigorously defend its IP, and the blogosphere quickly jumped on that statement and interpreted it to mean that Apple had its legal sights set on Palm.  Colligan’s recent statements, however, is even more proof that litigation between the two tech heavyweights is unlikely.  Also,   if history serves as any barometer, Apple’s attempt to sue Microsoft for copying the Mac’s GUI didn’t work out in Apple’s favor at all.
