Target today announced that it will begin carrying the iPhone at 846 of its retail stores starting on November 7th. Both the iPhone 4 and 3GS will be available for purchase and the retailing giant will also offer users in-store activation.

“At Target we continue to offer our guests the best in electronics so we’re happy to add  iPhone to our Target Mobile offerings,” said Mark Schindele, senior vice president, merchandising, Target. “With expert support from Target Mobile specialists and in-store activation, our guests will be able to leave the store with a new, working iPhone3GS or iPhone4 in-hand.”

And similar to Radio Shack promotions, Target customers will be able to trade in MP3 players and other electronic devices for credit to be applied towards an iPhone.
