News

According to recent reports, Apple and News Corp have been working closely together to develop a new iPad only newspaper called the Daily. Priced at only $0.99/wk, the paper will be the first iPad-exclusive publication, will presumably show up automatically on a user’s iPad every morning, and may serve as a game changing initiative for the news industry.

Not to be outdone, British billionaire Richard Branson (or is it Sir Richard Branson these days?) recently announced his own plans to release an iPad only digital magazine titled Project.

In invitations sent out to the press, the British tycoon noted that his upcoming magazine will focus on entertainment, travel, business, design, and international culture. Branson, of course, is no stranger to jumping head first into new/emerging technologies. Branson is part owner of Virgin Atlantic airlines, whose planes are raved about by travellers on account of built-in power outlets in seats, wi-fi connections, and personal video/movie monitors. More recently, Branson claimed that his Virgin Galactic initiative will commercialize space travel within 18 months. So yeah, this guy dreams big and his bank account suggests he’s no dummy. Now it’s time to sit back and see how his iPad initiative pans out.

Update: And it’s now available here on iTunes
