Here’s an oddball story for ya. A masked man in New London Connecticut walked into an Indian restaurant last week and demanded that the restaurant’s cooks give him money. The man, named Jerome Taylor, was brandishing what he hoped would be perceived as a small handgun. Nevertheless, the cooks refused to hand over anything to the man and instead decided to brandish some knives. But this wasn’t a Hollywood style gangster influenced throwdown. On the contrary, upon seeing that the cooks weren’t retreating, the wanna-be criminal apologized and explained that he was merely trying to drum up some cash for his kid for the holidays.

The unsuccessful thief then fled the scene. After debating whether or not to call the cops, the cooks used their better judgment and sent in a call to the local 5-0. When the authorities eventually came to arrest Taylor, he confessed that his “handgun” was merely a black iPhone.

Taylor has since been charged with interfering with police, first-degree criminal attempt to commit first-degree robbery, and a criminal attempt to commit sixth-degree larceny.

Funny, this dude is scrappin’ for money but can afford an iPhone. The only thing that could have made this story more ridiculous would have been if he was in possession of the elusive white iPhone 4.
