Apple announced today that former IBM employee Mark Papermaster will begin work at Apple on April 24th, and will report directly to Steve Jobs.  If you recall, Papermaster was initially recruited away from IBM to head up the vacancy left by Tony Fadell in Apple’s iPod division.  IBM subsequently began litigation to prevent this, claiming that Papermaster working for Apple would constitute a violation of a restricted covenant Papermaster signed as an employee of IBM.

The press release from Apple notes that the litigation between Apple and IBM has been resolved, and Papermaster’s official title will be ‘Senior Vice President of Devices Hardware Engineering’.
