A number of Apple patents released today indicate that Apple is heavily experimenting with a 3D desktop user interface. The most relevant, and intriguing one, is a patent titled “Multidimensional Desktop”, and the pictures below show how Apple might implement a 3D desktop to help clean up clutter.
