This is two weeks old but worth mentioning.

In light of the earthquake and tsunami disasters that hit Japan three weeks ago, Apple recently put up a special “Songs for Japan” section on iTunes featuring 38 songs from big artists such as Elton John, Shakira, Enjya, Norah Jones, Queen, and Bruno Mars. The songs can only be purchased together as part of an album which is a steal at only $9.99. All proceeds go to the Japanese Red Cross.

Immediately following the humanitarian crisis in Japan in March, Apple also put up a section on iTunes where users can donate money to the Red Cross and help the thousands of victims who now find themselves without homes, electricity, and tragically, often without loved ones. Users can donate in increments ranging from $5 to $200 and all proceeds go directly to the Red Cross.
