The hype surrounding the next version of Final Cut Pro continues to build. Just yesterday came news that the next version of FCP will feature the software’s biggest overhaul since the original version.

Ahead of its anticipated Spring 2011 release, Apple invited a number of post-production professionals to its Cupertino campus to give the software a spin. One individual who attended the event said the next iteration of Final Cut Pro will be 64-bit and that Apple’s changes are “dramatic and ambitious.”

In light of that comes a first hand report from independent filmmaker and Final Cut Pro consultant Larry Jordan. Though limited via a non-disclosure agreement, Jordan enthusiastically declared that the next version of FCP is a “jaw-dropper.”

Last week, Apple invited a few folks, including me, to a short meeting in Cupertino where they previewed the up-coming version of Final Cut Pro…

While the invited crowd was small, it was a Who’s Who of leaders in the post-production community. I felt like I was standing on the red carpet at an awards show, watching all the stars walk past.

We’re pumped.
