Wow, what took so long? A lawsuit targeting Apple for what appears to be widespread iPhone 4 reception issues is already in the works thanks to the Scaramento-based money grubbing law firm of Kershaw, Cutter & Ratinoff. To be clear, this isn’t a plaintiff initiated lawsuit as far as we can tell, but was actually initiated by the law firm itself. Quite simply, it’s the definition of ambulance chasing.

The firm is already seeking out iPhone 4 owners experiencing signal strength issues with their new devices, and we can only imagine that this will be the first of many, many iPhone 4 lawsuits to come over the next few weeks. We imagine that the aforementioned firm decided to get a head start on things in an arguably unethical attempt to solidify their involvement in a class-action suit that may potentially include hundreds of thousands of users.

So why do we take umbrage with this? Well, the iPhone hasn’t even been out a week and folks are already getting dollar signs in their eyes. For all we know, the rumored software fix from Apple will come later this week. And for all we know it might not. Either way, organizing a class action lawsuit less than 5 days after a product’s release, no matter what the product, reeks of stereotypical personal injury law bullshit.

And just for the record, what reputable law firm has social media links to sites like Digg and Stumbleupon on their website?
