News, Rumors

With new MacBook Pro notebooks just a few days away comes yet another rumor from the often-reliable Boy Genius Report. Citing one of their trusted Apple sources, BGR reports that the Apple’s new lineup of high-end notebooks will feature even larger trackpads with some models weighing in at about a half-pound lighter.

And there’s more.

The next bit of information doesn’t quite make sense to us, but we have been told the OS on the laptops will be loaded to a separate (internal) 8-16GB SSD while everything else will remain on the regular hard drive. There will be options for just SSD drives but the base models will feature regular hard disks with the SSD combo for the OS.

There have of course also been rumors that the next-gen MacBook Pros will come with a completely new industrial design bearing some similarities to the latest MacBook Air models. There have also been bubbling rumors suggesting that Apple will include Intel’s Light Peak transfer technology in its brand new notebooks..
