News

Boy Genius Report is reporting that 3G versions of Apple’s iPad may be sold in AT&T Stores.

One of our AT&T connects down south just hit us up with some pretty interesting info… According to them, AT&T stores will be selling the 3G version of the Apple iPad, complete with built-in display. We’re told that the general plan is to convert one or two existing netbook display sections in each corporate AT&T location into a pretty substantial iPad display area. More as we get it…

Apple, of course, is extremely particular about where some of its products are sold. When the iPhone first debuted, for example, it was only available at Apple Stores and sanctioned AT&T Stores – AT&T franchise stores were out of luck, and it wasn’t until much later that the iPhone began popping up at other retailers like Best Buy and Walmart. That said, it seems like a no-brainer to expect the iPad 3G to show up in AT&T stores when the device finally begins shipping in late April.

Comically, the first comment on the original BGR report reads, “Not trying to be a blog crapper… but curious… what’s so interesting about this??

That’s a damn good question.
