You know what they say, imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. Hell, Apple fans have been saying that about Windows since back in the day. In the most recent incarnation of “flattery”, the audio loop in the video where Nokia CEO Stephen Elop and Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer announced their strategic partnership is the same one used in the video Apple released highlighting the aluminum unibody design of the MacBook Pro. Okay, this is just a standard iMovie audio loop and not a big deal at all, but it’s still kinda funny. But not nearly as funny as Ballmer pronouncing Nokia as “Nawkia” and hyping up services people care about like Bing, Office, and Xbox Life. I guess one out of 3 ain’t bad.

Incidentally, the audio loop is called Pendulum and Nokia video editor Phillip Schwarzmann chimed in that he was in a rush and quickly put together the Nokia/Microsoft announcement video using Final Cut.
