Wirelesss iPhone syncing – it’s not necessarily a must-have, but man, it sure would make life just a tad bit easier. Apple, of course, doesn’t officially offer or support such a feature, but a wily developer named Greg Hughes recently showcased an app called Wi-Fi Sync that, you guessed it, lets iPhone and iPod Touch owners sync their iTunes libraries over the air. As you might expect, the app requires a separate syncing app to be installed on the user’s computer.

But after recently submitting the app to Apple, it was unceremoniously rejected. Hughes told Engadget that he spoke with an Apple representative over the phone and was told that while the app isn’t necessarily in violation of the iPhone developers agreement, Apple still wasn’t willing to let it in.

“While he agreed that the app doesn’t technically break the rules, [Apple] said that it does encroach upon the boundaries of what they can and cannot allow on their store,” Hughes said. “[Apple] also cited security concerns.”

Disappointed, but soldiering on, Hughes is now selling the app for $9.99 via the Cydia Store.  You can check out a video of the syncing app in action, below.
