iPhone 2.2 software update is available!

iPhone 2.2 software update is finally available for download.  The new update has lots of goodies including

  • A new look for Safari with the Google search bar now occupying its own space on the title bar
  • The ability to turn auto-correction on and off
  • Emoji icons, which should be welcome over in Japan
  • New language support
  • Support for Google street view and Google transit information
  • The ability to download podcasts wirelessly
  • Display address of dropped pins
  • Share location via email
  • New App Store features such as easier navigation, and better previews of applications via screenshots
  • Decrease in call set-up failures and call drops
  • Improved sound quality of visual voicemail messages

Google Streetview has arrived!

Interestingly, MacRumors is reporting that Street view capabilities do not appear to be available in the iPod Touch.

    Apparently you have to have a japanese iPhone to use the emoji… That saddens me, and I can’t even use an emoji to express it…
