Citing strong sales, RIM co-CEO Jim Balsillie told Reuters earlier today that RIM is already planning a follow up to the BlackBerry Storm.  While BlackBerry’s in general are extremely popular among corporate users who email like crazy, RIM views the touchscreen and button-less Storm as a more consumer friendly version of its other QWERTY keyboard based models.

Despite strong sales of BlackBerry devices on the whole, the Storm itself, however, never gained a lot of traction.  Reviewers largely labeled the device as underwhelming and disappointing, while users gave it low scores in customer satisfaction surveys.  Nonetheless, sales must have been strong enought to keep RIM interested in releasing a follow-up.
