Apple squashes the rumor that never was

News, Rumors

There have been rumors floating around the Internet that Apple was set to unveil updated iMacs and Mac mini’s this coming November.  Not surprisingly, the fact that this rumor lacked any foundation in credibility didn’t stop it from evolving from a tiny piece of speculation into a full-fledged prediction.  In any event, Apple recently issued a statement to MacWorld stating that their holiday lineup is set, and not to expect any new product announcements or upgrades.

While I love Apple rumors as much as the next guy, this particular one was clearly made up out of thin air.

Chuqui has the right idea:

I swear to god, I’m going to start a rumor blog, make up some false identity and start posting really weird fantasy crap, just to see who picks it up and treats it as real news. And then I’ll out you for the idiots you are.

Amen.
