UFC coming to iTunes

In a fanchat this past Friday, UFC President Dana White answered a question about if the UFC had any plans to put UFC fights up for sale on iTunes – and his answer was yes.

The UFC is the largest mixed martial arts organization in the world and currently offers fights for $1.99 on its website, but interested customers must first sign up and register with UFC.com, and then they have to go through the UFC’s own payment system.  And tack onto that the fact that the number of fights offered at UFC’s website are relatively slim, and it becomes clear why a deal with iTunes would be a boon to fight fans.

Putting UFC fights on iTunes would make it a whole lot easier for fans to keep up with the most exciting UFC matches, without the fuss of registering as a user for another website etc.  In addition, a section on iTunes for UFC fights would also make it a lot easier for fans to navigate through a huge number of videos, find what they need, and even introduce them to other fights, fighters, and highlight films that they might also be interested in.
