A computer virus that recently swept through a Vancouver school district has rendered a large number of computers inoperable as IT staff continue to attempt to fix each infected computer individually. According to reports,

There are more than 10,000 computers in the district, each of which had to be shut down and disconnected from the network, then individually scanned and repaired if necessary.

Notably, however, newly purchased Macs in the same school district weren’t affected by the virus and continue to run fine.
