In 2002, I bought a 800 Mhz eMac with 128MB of RAM for $1000. Today you can get a higher spec eMac on Ebay for $100. Of course, this type of story probably applies to any computer bought more than 5 years ago, but it’s always different when you see one of your own up on the chopping block!
The eMac was a great machine though, and ran brilliantly for over 5 years before I decided to upgrade. Sure it weighed like 40 lbs, but that was the style back then, before thin was in. In a way, the eMac was like the Marilyn Monroe of computers – curvy and egg-shaped. Wait, what?
