According to leaked screenshots of Best Buy’s internal inventory system, the upcoming 16GB Zune HD will retail for $220 while the 32GB model will sell for $290.  According to the same source, the Zune HD will most likely hit store shelves on September 8th.

The newly revealed Zune HD pricing would make the Zune noticeably cheaper than comparably equipped iPod Touch models as the 16GB version currently goes for $274 on Amazon.  Still, the iPod Touch gives users access to the iTunes App Store, which allows them to extend the functionality of their devices.

Moreover, Apple is expected to announce a new lineup of iPods this September, a move which would assuredly lower the asking price for current iPod Touch models.
