Digitimes is reporting that Foxconn has been tapped to manufacture Apple’s rumored tablet, with an anticipated early 2010 launch date.

Now onto the dirty details.

While initial reports suggested that an Apple tablet would measure in at 9.6-inches, Digitimes notes that the device will sport a 10.6-inch display, which closely corroborates info which surfaced not too long ago at iLounge.  Initial shipments for the Apple Tablet will be somewhere in the range of 300,000 to 400,000 units, the report said, with a focus of the device being that of an e-book reader rather than on more standard media like music playback.

Key marketing points for the device will include its long battery life, quick Internet connectivity, and in expected Apple fashion, and intuitive and easy to use user interface.  Earlier reports have suggested that the device will include a PA Semi processor.  PA Semi, of course, was the boutique chipmaker Apple purchased in 2008 who were well regarded for their highly efficient, yet low power, processors.

Aesthetically, the rumored Apple tablet will sport a design very close in kind to the iPhone, and according to a reliable source in contact with iLounge, will come in 2 different models.
