If you happen to have an iPhone and/or a Mac (which I assume you do, because, well, why else would you be reading this?) and use Twitter, than you best be using Tweetie, arguably the best Twitter app currently available for the iPhone.  Tweetie 2 launched not to long ago, and Tweetie developer Loren Brichter is already hard at work pushing out features for an upcoming Tweetie 2.1 update.

The upcoming Tweetie update will include support for the recently launched “lists” feature, in addition to “new-style retweets and geolocation support.”

MacNN writes:

Tweets sent using the updated retweet function will appear in the app interface as usual, but the listing will show both the original sender and the retweeter. Retweets will also be indicated with a pink tag, while the original tweeter’s icon will be larger than the retweeter’s image.

For accounts equipped with geolocation support, tweets will include a red location pin in the upper right-hand corner. The original tweet page also includes a map preview, which links to a Google Map that appears inside the Tweetie interface.

TechCrunch got their hands on an early alpha build of Tweetie 2.1, and you can check out their impressions over here.  Overall, it seems that Brichter has struck gold yet again.

Some of the other fixes/tweaks in 2.1 include reorganized search, image compression options, more video posting options, and spam reporting.
