The latest word from Microsoft’s partners regarding Microsoft’s Windows roadmap suggests that the next significant Windows upgrade is scheduled for 2012 and is tentatively titled Windows 8. Now what are the odds that Microsoft keeps up the numeric title releases for Windows, a strategy that will culminate with the epic release, a few years down the road, of Windows X? I’d say the odds are pretty good.
