HP looks to battle iPad with flash-enabled Slate

At this year’s CES, Steve Ballmer briefly showcased an upcoming HP slate device running Windows 7. Largely positioned to contend against the iPad, HP’s slate offering promises “all day battery life”, and of course, the much ballyhooed flash support the iPad famously lacks.

In the video below, HP and Adobe highlight how Flash will help users access their favorite music and movie content from the web. Adobe even makes a point of noting that 85% of the top 100 websites use Flash, while over 75% of all video on the web uses Flash.

And below, check out a 30 second commercial for the HP Slate that is somewhat similar to Apple’s iPad ad that debuted during the Oscars. But to be fair, HP’s ad hit the web first.
