It’s not terribly unusual to see crazed Apple fans express their devotion to all things Apple in interesting and creative ways. From Apple tattoos to Apple themed pastries, if you look hard enough, you’ll find that people have been able to incorporate Apple into just about every type of object you can think of.

This story, however, is different.

Pictured below is an iPillow, a pillow with embroidered iPhone icons on them. Cute, right? Well the pillow in and of itself isn’t anything we haven’t seen before, but what makes it unique is why it was created in the first place, and for whom.

The pillow was made for Drew Olanoff by his mom, and was started just as Drew began chemotherapy treatment for Hodgkin’s disease. Fittingly, it was finished just as he was finishing his treatments.

But what was the impetus for the iPillow in the first place? Well, Drew explains: “During chemo my iPhone kept me alive and sane and connected.”

And in a cute touch, the iPillow contains a small pocket just big enough to fit an iPhone.

Now that’s a mom who knows her son.
