Steve Jobs was up to his email tricks yet again this week when he responded to a user email inquiring about why the new 13-inch MacBook Pro still uses the Intel Core 2 Duo as opposed to the newer and faster Intel Core i5 and i7 processors. Turns out Apple was more concerned with graphics performance than nominal improvements in CPU speed.

“We chose killer graphics plus 10 hour battery life over a very small CPU speed increase,” Jobs wrote, “Users will see far more performance boost from the speedy graphics.
