For as secretive a company as Apple is, there’s no getting around the fact that prototype iPhones need to be thoroughly field tested to ensure a modicum of bugs and network glitches. Pre-release iPhones also need to be well-disguised so that field testers can go about their business in complete anonymity.

The solution? A custom made iPhone case.

This following video shows how Apple used a specially modified iPhone case to cleverly mask the iPhone 4G’s new design. Clever.
