Only about a month old, it seems that the iPad is already a symbol of luxury. London’s 5-Star Berkeley Hotel is offering guests who can afford to stay in their expensive suites complimentary iPads for the duration of their stay. Moreover, each iPad will come pre-loaded with a slew of apps geared towards enriching the London experience for hotel guests.
The hotel explains:
Guests in selected suites at The Berkeley are given their own personal iPad, complete with a variety of themed apps, for the duration of their stay
Apple’s much sought-after new gadget is offered to guests staying in the hotel’s chic Berkeley, Conservatory and Chelsea suites, and with the official UK launch of the iPad still awaited, our guests will be amongst the first to experience the delights of this latest innovation.
From Le Monde to the Wall Street Journal, your local newspaper will be available at breakfast and quickly checking the opening times of Christian Louboutin on Motcomb Street has never been more convenient. A wide range of games, videos and comic books is available for children and our experienced Concierge team has created their personal Top 5 of must-visit places – shops, exhibitions, local attractions and some hidden gems – which are clearly mapped so that you can plan your itinerary.
Whilst internet browsing has never been easier, the selection of applications specially chosen for your iPad is interesting, informative, useful and most of all FUN!

And oh yeah, the iPad hasn’t even been released yet in the UK, a fact which adds an extra layer of exclusivity and luxury to the deal. If you happen to be in the UK and just can’t wait to try out an iPad, and are thinking about spending a night there just to check it out, be warned – you better have a bag full of money ready at your disposal. iPad eligible suites at The Berkely start at £1,850 per night. In US dollars, that’s $2804. A night.
