With their recent acquisition of Divvyshot, Facebook is improving its photos feature by implementing facial recognition technology. Now, when a user uploads photos into an album, Facebook will be able to automatically tag individuals in the photo if their face registers with Facebook’s database. The feature is currently undergoing a limited test run, so not everyone will have access to it just yet.
Incredibly, over 100 million Facebook photos are uploaded every day.
