Nokia to lay off 800 employees, delays arrival of E7 flagship device

Thu, Dec 16, 2010

Amid a struggling stock price and the conspicuous absence of a smartphone capable of competing with the likes of Android devices and the iPhone, things aren’t looking to promising over at Nokia. Compounding matters, the company recently announced plans to layoff 800 employees. All the while, Nokia also announced that their upcoming flagship product, the E7, would be delayed and won’t start shipping until early 2011 “to ensure the best possible user experience.”

Umm, Apple has had that market on lockdown since 2007, son.
