Imagine holding your iPhone up to a sign written in Spanish and instantly having it translated back to you in English. Magic, right? Well that’s what the recently released “Word Lens” app purports to do. The video demo below is awe-inspiring, but a perusal of user reviews on iTunes reveals a slew of user complaints. While some folks claimed that the app flat out didn’t work, most people took issue with the fact that the app sneakily parades around as a free download, but requires users to makes in-app purchases if they actually want to use it for the purpose it’s advertised for. i.e purchasing Spanish-to-English functionality will cost ya $4.99.

You can check it out on iTunes over here.
