News, Rumors

M.I.C Gadget was able to get its hands on an iPad 2 leather case from an Asian supplier. Noticeably, the case is sufficiently too small to accommodate the current iPad, lending even more credence to an avalanche of reports hinting at an iPad 2 with a smaller and thinner form factor, albeit maintaining the same 9.7-inch screen. Also note that the case blow sports an opening for larger speakers and a front-facing camera.

M.I.C Gadget also gleaned that the case below was tested on an actual iPad 2, meaning that this isn’t some prototype case. Moreover, the case manufacturer, who wishes to remain nameless for obvious reasons, indicated that that 120,000 units were shipped from China to the US in January. Long story short, and assuming the source is trustworthy, you don’t ship 120,000 units of anything unless you’re 100% sure about the final product.

Apple’s iPad 2 is already rumored to be in production with a launch date expected sometime in late March or early April at the latest.
