The legal dispute between Samsung and Apple just got a little bit more layered. Weeks after Apple amended its initial complaint to encompass more of Samsung’s products, the Korean based company has fired back with an ITC complaint against Apple seeking an import ban on the iPhone, iPad, and iPod.

If the ITC agrees to investigate Samsung’s claim, which Florian Mueller of FOSSPatents believes is inevitable, he writes that “a final decision is reached within 16 to 18 months.”

Apple meanwhile is going to push ahead with its effort to attain a preliminary injunction to prevent Samsung from selling a number of its allegedly infringing products.

Making this soap opera all the more interesting are reports that Apple is seeking to tap TSMC to manufacture its upcoming A6 chip as opposed to Samsung who currently manufactures the A5.
