iPhone 5 rumored to launch in 5 countries on October 14

News, Rumors

The Japanese-language Macotakara is reporting that Apple is gearing up to launch the iPhone 4 and/or the iPhone 5 on October 14th in the US, UK, France, Germany, and Japan.

This certainly coalesces given recent reports that Apple has blocked out vacation time for retail employees during the middle of October. Moreover, with Apple’s special media event set for October 4th (though no invites have been sent out yet), a week and a half lag time between announcement and launch seems to make sense

Further, and as noted by Macotakara, you might remember that Stephane Richard, the outspoken CEO of the French carrier Orange, said just two weeks ago that he believes the iPhone 5 will be released on October 15.
