As has previously been rumored, Apple appears to be on the cusp of releasing a 15-inch model of its popular MacBook Air. According to a recent report in Digitimes, shipments of the upcoming notebook will begin in March.
“Upstream suppliers of Apple have recently started shipping a small volume of components for a 15-inch ultra-thin notebook model from Apple in November and the device could be either MacBook Air or just a thinner MacBook Pro,” the report notes. “The new MacBook is expected to appear as early as the second quarter of 2012, according to sources from the upstream supply chain.”
So what is it, a new MacBook Air or MacBook Pro? We’re inclined to believe that a 15-inch MacBook Air is on the horizon given a recent report claiming that Apple was planning to completely overhaul its MacBook Air lineup.
