Despite not hitting stores until the last quarter of 2011, Walter Isaacson’s biography of Steve Jobs is now Amazon’s best selling book of 2011 – an incredible feat given that it’s only been in stores for about two months.

Still, the news shouldn’t come as much of a surprise given that pre-orders of the Steve Jobs biography skyrocketed 41,800% in the wake of Jobs’ death this past October.

Once the book came out, it quickly occupied and maintained the top position on both print and e-book best seller lists. Further highlighting the book’s popularity, over 379,000 copies of the book were sold in just under 10 days. Soon thereafter, Amazon said it was already on track to become its best selling book of 2011.

And now it’s official.
