AT&T is suing Verizon over the following commercial which takes a jab at AT&T by misappropriating Apple’s famous iPhone tagline, “There’s an app for that”, and replacing it with “There’s a map for that”.  AT&T asserts that the map shown in the commercial implies that AT&T lacks coverage in all of the white spots on the map, when in reality AT&T provides wireless coverage across most parts of the United States.

Interestingly, Verizon reportedly modified the commercial already by adding the following phrase in small print at the end of the commercial –  “Voice and data services available outside of 3G areas”.  But you know what they say, a picture is worth a thousand words and AT&T is bringing suit nonetheless.

We’ll have more on this once we pour over the complaint…

AT&T might want to re-think this. I think Verizon might have over represented the AT&T network as I live in a major city and the service from AT&T is absolutely horrible.
