Phil Schiller, Apple’s Senior VP of marketing is all up in Twitter ya’ll, haven’t you heard? Though a member for over two years, Schiller didn’t tweet very much, if at all, until 9to5Mac noticed a flurry of activity from Schiller’s account recently. Somewhat impressively, when you consider how secretive Apple is, Schiller not only posts […]

Comments Off on Loren Brichter working on “amazing” Twitter client?

Or so it would appear from this tweet he sent out on Monday afternoon. Brichter, of course, is the mastermind behind the Tweetie iPhone app, which was subsequently purchased by Twitter and repackaged as their default Twitter client. But who knows what other concoction Brichter has cooking up in the labs, Tweetie for the iPad perhaps?

Comments Off on Scott Forstall, Apple’s Senior VP of iOS software, joins Twitter

It’s verified and good to go. Apple’s Senior VP of iOS software, Scott Forstall, is up on Twitter and as of now is only following one person, Conan O’Brien. Apple is notorious about keeping Apple employees from blogging and the like, so it’ll be interesting to see what Scott ends up using his Twitter account […]

Comments Off on Roger Ebert pulls a 180 on Twitter

The alway eloquent Roger Ebert has pulled a complete 180 on Twitter. No longer a critic, he’s now a fan. And an addicted one, at that. I vowed I would never become a Twit. Now I have Tweeted nearly 10,000 Tweets. I said Twitter represented the end of civilization. It now represents a part of […]

The New York Times, largely regarded as the “newspaper of record” here in the United States, is putting the clamp down on the use of the word “tweet” in news articles. Phil Corbett, who assumed the role as the Times’ standards editor back in 2009, sent out a memo to employees yesterday explaining why the […]

Back in April, Loren Brichter’s award winning Twitter client Tweetie was acquired by Twitter. Comments Off on Twitter acquires Tweetie, Loren Brichter to join Twitter mobile team

With all the hubbub surrounding the iPad and which apps were going to be available on launch day, one popular iPhone app was conspicuously absent from the discussion – Tweetie. Tweeie is, in my opinion, the best Twitter client for the iPhone and the Mac. Developed by former Apple engineer Loren Brichter, Tweetie has won […]

For as much of a public showman as Steve Jobs is, he is a notoriously private person, and his obsession with privacy clearly seeps into the culture at Apple where unannounced products are never talked about and product leaks are handled with utmost severity. The latest and greatest product to emerge from Cupertino is the […]
