iPhone Developers in high-demand

Fri, Oct 31, 2008

iPhone developers seem to be one segment of the workforce that isn’t being affected by today’s struggling economy.  With the iPhone becoming a viable software platform unto itself, talented iPhone developers are finding themselves in high demand.  Developers, however, are quickly finding out that working for themselves can yield extremely profitable results.

Wired reports:

“Independent coder Shane Vitarana, who developed the $1 app Drum Kit, said his app is currently selling about 500 downloads a day on average — enough to provide him a steady income. He said he doesn’t have exact figures of how much his app has gained him overall, but at one point his app was the 12th most downloaded paid app in the App Store.”
