Despite rumors that the iPhone will be coming to Verizon in the 3rd quarter of 2009, Verizon is turning on the heat in its on-going promotional campaign lambasting the iPhone and AT&T’s spotty 3G coverage.  Over the weekend, Verizon launched 3 new commercials which take over jabs at AT&T’s shoddy network coverage.

The first one is called “Verizon Misfit Toys”, and shows the iPhone being relegated to a mythical island of outcast toys that either don’t work as expected, or at all.

The second one is called “Verizon Elves”, and shows Santa’s little helpers giving good kids phones on the Verizon network while the naughty children get what we presume to be iPhones on AT&T’s network.  Hey, if that’s not an endorsement for being a bad little kid, then i don’t what is!

And the third one is called “Verizon Blue Christmas”. Eh.
