The Mac App Store is about to get a lot more violent, ya’ll. RockStar Games announced that its Grand Theft Auto trilogy will soon be making its way to the Mac App Store. Yep, that means Grand Theft Auto III, Grand Theft Auto: Vice City and Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas will be available for download starting on September 1. Each title will be available for $14.99. Note that Grand Theft Auto III is currently available for download with the next two titles poised for release in just 2 weeks.

Now this isn’t the first time Mac users have been able to indulge in good-natured car jackings and robberies. Rockstar in late 2010 made its GTA Trilogy available for the Mac via online retailers but with Apple now pushing the Mac App Store hard, users will now be able to download it via that avenue as well.

When the GTA Trilogy first became available for the Mac, they were also priced at $14.99 per title and were also available as part of a bundle for $39.99. It remains to be seen if Rockstar will offer a similar deal via the Mac App Store though it doesn’t seem likely at this point.

And yes, in case anyone had earned stripes playing GTA, we know that the photo above is from GTA IV, so no need for flaming emails.
